Takahiko Kondo, the sixth generation.
After working for nine years at a manufacturer that made blades with the latest machine tools, he jump into the world of blacksmithing at the age of 27 to take over the family business as the sixth generation.
Currently, he participates in the "Traditional Forging Technology Inheritance Project" sponsored by the Sanjo Industrial Association. While learning all the techniques involved in the family business, including forging, polishing, pressing, and welding, he handles not only hoes, which have been his forte for generations, but also kitchen knives, iron frying pans, and other items.

Please call me Ken. I enjoy doing Judo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in my free time.
I have experience of living in the states. Also, I used to work on the US military base in Japan. I take you around the town, Tsubame-Sanjo and show local spots that cannot be found in guidebooks with making use of my english speaking experience.

Workshop Information
- Period: All year round
- Participation Fee:
- 100,000 yen per person (for 1 participant)
- 65,000 yen per person (for 2 participants)
- The time required: 7.5 hours(excluding pick-up and drop-off times)
- Capacity: 1 group per day (maximum 2 persons)
- Age: 18 and over
Notes
- Participation of persons under 18 years old is not allowed.
- For safety reasons during the manufacturing experience at the workshop, please refrain from wearing shorts and sandals.
- Tours will proceed even in the rain. We provide rain jackets.
- we cannot accept participants who cannot ride a bicycle.
